Why people use AI Quiz

Multiple-choice quizzes are the assessment format of choice for compliance training, certification prep, and reading-comprehension checks. AI Quiz generates 6–12 MCQs from any PDF, each with 4 plausible distractors, a correct answer, and a one-line explanation citing the source page.

Compliance training quizzes
Annual security training, anti-harassment refresher, regulatory updates — quiz at the end of the doc to verify the team actually engaged. Better signal than “I read it” clickthrough.
Self-test before exams
Read the chapter, generate a quiz, take it, then go back and re-study where you missed. Spaced-repetition flashcards (AI Flashcards) drill recall; MCQ quizzes drill recognition + reasoning.
Training assessment
Onboarding deck for new hires, sales-enablement docs, product-knowledge quizzes. Quiz format gives a measurable score; useful in cohort training where instructors want to identify struggling participants.
Reading comprehension check
Before discussing a research paper at journal club or assigning a doc to a junior team member, generate a quiz to spot-check whether the key claims came across.
Distance-learning supplement
Pair video lectures with quiz-generated MCQs from accompanying PDFs. Students self-test between sessions; instructors get a question bank for the actual exam.

How AI Quiz works

Three steps. Sign in to run, zero retention — files never persisted on our servers.

  1. STEP 1
    Drop your PDF
Up to 100 MB. Works on any text-bearing content with extractable concepts.
  2. STEP 2
We generate questions + plausible distractors
The prompt is tuned to write 4 distractors that are PLAUSIBLE — wrong-but-defensible — not obviously-wrong filler. The correct answer comes with a one-line explanation referencing the source page.
  3. STEP 3
    Download as JSON
6–12 questions in JSON format (question, options[], correctIndex, explanation, pageRef). Import into your LMS, quiz tool, or display directly via the in-app preview.

What makes pdfcraft ai different

  • Citations on every claim
Every AI summary, answer, and translation links back to the page it came from. You can verify the source before relying on the output. Hallucination is bounded, not blind.
  • Pay only for what you use
No subscription. Purchased credits never expire. Cancel anytime. Cost shown before you run — exact credit amount appears after upload.
  • Multi-provider routing, no vendor lock-in
We balance multiple AI providers per call to optimise cost and quality. If one has an outage, the next call automatically tries another. You're not bound to a single vendor's pricing or downtime.
  • Zero retention by design
Your PDF lives in memory only as long as the AI call needs it, then it's discarded — nothing is persisted to our servers. We don't fine-tune models on your data. Verifiable in your dashboard's audit log.
  • Honest about model limits
When a doc exceeds the model's context window we surface that the output was truncated (we render result.wasTruncated in every AI tool's UI). When a number can't be verified from the source we flag it. No silent failures.

Frequently asked questions

How are the distractors chosen?
From neighboring concepts in the source — the question asks about X, distractors are facts about adjacent concepts X-prime, X-double-prime, etc. This makes them genuinely tempting (you have to know X specifically, not just “something about X”) without being misleading.
Why 6–12 questions, not more?
Quiz fatigue is real — beyond ~12 questions, attention drops and answers become noise. For longer self-test sessions, run quiz on chapter subsections separately and concatenate.
Are the questions reliable for high-stakes assessment?
Use as a study aid or formative-assessment, not as the SOLE basis for high-stakes decisions (board pass/fail, certification, hiring). LLMs occasionally generate questions where the “correct” answer is debatable; always have an instructor or domain expert review questions before using them in formal assessment.
What format is the export?
JSON. Each question has fields: question (string), options (string[4]), correctIndex (0-3), explanation (string), pageRef (number). Import into Canvas, Moodle, Brightspace, or any quiz tool that accepts JSON; the structure is flat and standard.
What's the credit cost?
5 credits per quiz.
How is this different from AI Flashcards?
Flashcards = free-recall Q&A (no options shown; you have to RETRIEVE the answer). Quiz = recognition (4 options shown; you pick from them). Recall is harder and builds memory faster; recognition matches what real exams test. Use both — they're complementary.

Want free-recall practice instead?

AI Flashcards generates Q&A pairs without multiple-choice options — better for active-recall drilling that builds long-term memory.
