Why people use AI Key Points
Bullet lists trade prose for parallelism — every key point sits at the same level of importance, scannable, copyable, easy to share. AI Key Points extracts the document’s major claims, findings, or decisions as a clean list of bullets.
Lecture / seminar notes
Transcript or slide-deck PDF in, bullet-list takeaways out. Faster than re-watching the recording; structured enough to study from.
Meeting recap bullets
After-the-meeting recap email becomes 8 bullets you can paste directly into the email. Pairs with AI Action Items for the follow-up to-dos.
Research highlights
Pull the methodology + findings + caveats from a paper as bullets. Useful for lit-review notes or for the “background” section of your own writing.
Decision-doc actions
Strategy docs, RFC-style proposals, board memos — extract the explicit decisions or recommendations as bullets so they’re easy to track and reference.
Study card prep
First step in turning textbook chapters into review material. Pairs with AI Flashcards (which generates Q&A pairs from the same source).
How AI Key Points works
Three steps. Sign in to run, zero retention — files never persisted on our servers.
- STEP 1Drop your PDFUp to 100 MB. Output is markdown bullet list — every bullet a single point.
- STEP 2We extract structural pointsThe prompt is tuned to extract claims, decisions, or findings — not subjective “the author thinks” framing. Page citations included.
- STEP 3Get a markdown bullet listTypically 5–15 bullets depending on document length. Copy + paste into Notion, Slack, email, etc. with formatting preserved.
What makes pdfcraft ai different
- Citations on every claimEvery AI summary, answer, and translation links back to the page it came from. You can verify the source before relying on the output. Hallucination is bounded, not blind.
- Pay only for what you useNo subscription. Purchased credits never expire. Cancel anytime. Cost shown before you run — exact credit amount appears after upload.
- Multi-provider routing, no vendor lock-inWe balance multiple AI providers per call to optimise cost and quality. If one has an outage, the next call automatically tries another. You're not bound to a single vendor's pricing or downtime.
- Zero retention by designYour PDF lives in memory only as long as the AI call needs it, then it's discarded — nothing is persisted to our servers. We don't fine-tune models on your data. Verifiable in your dashboard's audit log.
- Honest about model limitsWhen a doc exceeds the model's context window we surface that the output was truncated (we render result.wasTruncated in every AI tool's UI). When a number can't be verified from the source we flag it. No silent failures.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from AI Summarize?
Summary preserves narrative structure (section headings + paragraphs); Key Points strips it to bullets. Summary is for “tell me what this says”; Key Points is for “give me the takeaways I can paste somewhere.”
What's the bullet count?
Aimed at 5–15 bullets — long enough to cover the main content, short enough to skim. The prompt won’t pad the list to hit a target count; if a doc only has 6 distinct key points, you get 6 bullets.
Does it preserve hierarchy or sub-points?
Top-level only. Nested bullets aren’t emitted by default — they hurt scannability. For hierarchical study material, AI Mindmap is the better fit.
Can I get the bullets as flashcards instead?
Yes — AI Flashcards generates Q&A pairs from the same kind of source content. Use Key Points when you need bullets for a recap; use Flashcards when you need self-test material.
What's the credit cost?
3 credits per extraction. Same as Summarize / TL;DR — same backend, different output framing.
What if my document has nothing extractable?
Pure prose / narrative content (memoir, fiction) doesn’t map well to bullets. The model will produce an output, but it will read forced. Use AI Summarize for narrative content; AI Key Points works best on documents with explicit structure (papers, reports, decision docs).
Need self-test material?
AI Flashcards generates Q&A pairs from the same kind of source content — Anki-compatible CSV export so you can drill the material later.
