Why people use AI Generate FAQ

An FAQ is the difference between a doc people read and a doc people skim. AI Generate FAQ produces 6–10 question-and-answer pairs grounded in the source — not invented — so the answers are verifiable rather than fabricated. Useful when you need a doc’s key questions surfaced without writing them yourself.

Internal handbook / playbook FAQ
Drop a 30-page operations manual or sales playbook, get a 10-question FAQ at the top so new hires can find the answers without reading the whole thing. Pairs with Mind Map for structural overview.
Product launch / spec doc
Auto-generate the customer-facing FAQ from your internal spec. Saves the back-and-forth of “what would users ask?” brainstorming and surfaces edges the spec author may not have anticipated.
Research paper accessibility
Turn a 30-page paper into a 6-question reader’s digest. Useful for student / non-specialist audiences, or for the layperson summary section of a grant application.
Long contracts / policy docs
Surfaces the questions readers actually want answered — payment terms, termination, IP ownership, data handling — rather than the questions the drafter wanted asked. Pairs well with AI Summarize.
Onboarding / how-to doc transformation
Turn a wall-of-text onboarding handbook into a 10-Q FAQ. Question-shaped headings reduce cognitive load and improve internal-search match-rate dramatically.

How AI Generate FAQ works

Three steps. Sign in to run, zero retention — files never persisted on our servers.

  1. STEP 1
    Drop your PDF
Up to 100 MB. Any topic — we don’t require domain-specific tuning. Works on contracts, papers, manuals, marketing docs.
  2. STEP 2
    We extract + cluster + question-mine
Server-side text extraction, then a pass to identify the doc’s key claims and decisions, then a generation step that frames the most-likely-asked questions and answers them with supporting passages. Routing layer picks the model based on cost-vs-quality fit.
  3. STEP 3
    Get markdown FAQ with citations
Output is markdown with question headings + grounded answers + page references. Drop it into your README, knowledge base, or doc’s top section as-is.

What makes pdfcraft ai different

  • Citations on every claim
Every AI summary, answer, and translation links back to the page it came from. You can verify the source before relying on the output. Hallucination is bounded, not blind.
  • Pay only for what you use
No subscription. Purchased credits never expire. Cancel anytime. Cost shown before you run — exact credit amount appears after upload.
  • Multi-provider routing, no vendor lock-in
We balance multiple AI providers per call to optimise cost and quality. If one has an outage, the next call automatically tries another. You're not bound to a single vendor's pricing or downtime.
  • Zero retention by design
Your PDF lives in memory only as long as the AI call needs it, then it's discarded — nothing is persisted to our servers. We don't fine-tune models on your data. Verifiable in your dashboard's audit log.
  • Honest about model limits
When a doc exceeds the model's context window we surface that the output was truncated (we render result.wasTruncated in every AI tool's UI). When a number can't be verified from the source we flag it. No silent failures.

Frequently asked questions

How many questions does it generate?
6–10 by default, scaling with doc length. A 5-page brief gets 6; a 50-page handbook gets 10. The model caps the count to keep each Q meaningfully distinct rather than padding.
Are the answers grounded in the doc?
Yes. Every answer cites the page it came from and is constrained to information present in the source. The model won’t fabricate an answer to a question the doc doesn’t address — it will say so explicitly.
What if the questions miss what readers actually ask?
Re-run; the model is non-deterministic so re-runs typically vary the question selection. For directed FAQ generation (e.g. “focus on payment terms and dispute resolution”), explicit topic constraints in the UI are on the roadmap.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Yes — we OCR scanned pages first (Devanagari, Tamil, Latin scripts all supported), then question-mine the extracted text. Quality on hand-written or low-resolution scans degrades, but printed scans work fine.
What’s the credit cost?
3 credits per FAQ. Cost is fixed regardless of doc size.
What if a question is wrong or irrelevant?
Re-run for a different question selection, or treat the output as a draft — for high-stakes FAQs (legal, medical, regulatory), have a human review before publishing.

Want a structural overview instead?

AI Mind Map renders a 4–8 branch hierarchical outline of any PDF — same source-grounding, different shape. Useful for study guides and policy-doc reviews where the structure matters more than the questions.
