Why people use AI Paraphrase

Paraphrase rewrites a document while preserving every claim, number, and conclusion verbatim. Same length as the input, same factual content, different sentence structure and word choice. Useful when the goal is style change, not summarization.

Avoid plagiarism-checker false positives
When sourcing language from public-domain content (legal precedent, government forms, technical specifications), paraphrase before publishing to avoid Turnitin / similar checker flags — while preserving factual accuracy.
Translate corporate jargon to plain English
Quarterly reports, audit findings, and policy docs are written in dense register that’s hard for non-specialists. Paraphrase reduces register without losing detail — useful for the executive summary aimed at a board including non-experts.
Repurpose case studies for new audiences
A case study written for B2B engineers can be paraphrased for marketing’s use without rewriting from scratch. Same evidence, different reader voice.
Internationalization prep
Before translating to other languages, paraphrase to plain English first. Translation quality (machine or human) is significantly higher when the source is plain rather than idiomatic / colloquial.
Multi-author style harmonization
When multiple authors contribute to one doc, the voice drifts. Paraphrase the whole doc to one consistent voice without rewriting the content. Pairs with AI Tone Analyze for the inconsistency detection.

How AI Paraphrase works

Three steps. Sign in to run, zero retention — files never persisted on our servers.

  1. STEP 1
    Drop the PDF
PDF up to 100 MB. Works best on prose; technical docs with heavy code blocks or math notation may need post-processing to preserve formatting.
  2. STEP 2
    We rewrite section-by-section
Server-side text extraction, then a constrained rewrite pass that preserves every numeric value, named entity, and factual claim while varying sentence structure and word choice. Routing layer selects the model that scores best on the preservation benchmark.
  3. STEP 3
    Get markdown output
Paraphrased version in markdown, similar length to original. Page citations link each section back to the source so you can verify the rewrite preserved meaning.

What makes pdfcraft ai different

  • Citations on every claim
Every AI summary, answer, and translation links back to the page it came from. You can verify the source before relying on the output. Hallucination is bounded, not blind.
  • Pay only for what you use
No subscription. Purchased credits never expire. Cancel anytime. Cost shown before you run — exact credit amount appears after upload.
  • Multi-provider routing, no vendor lock-in
We balance multiple AI providers per call to optimise cost and quality. If one has an outage, the next call automatically tries another. You're not bound to a single vendor's pricing or downtime.
  • Zero retention by design
Your PDF lives in memory only as long as the AI call needs it, then it's discarded — nothing is persisted to our servers. We don't fine-tune models on your data. Verifiable in your dashboard's audit log.
  • Honest about model limits
When a doc exceeds the model's context window we surface that the output was truncated (we render result.wasTruncated in every AI tool's UI). When a number can't be verified from the source we flag it. No silent failures.

Frequently asked questions

Are numbers and dates preserved exactly?
Yes — explicitly. The model is constrained to preserve every numeric value, percentage, date, currency amount, name, and proper noun verbatim. Misreporting numbers in paraphrasing is a known failure mode of generic LLMs; we benchmark and route to the model that does this best.
Will the output pass plagiarism checkers?
Usually yes — the output is structurally and lexically distinct from the input while preserving meaning. Note: some checkers flag “paraphrase” specifically. If you’re submitting academic work where paraphrase needs citation, cite the original source.
Is the output the same length as the input?
Approximately — typically within 10% of the original length. Longer or shorter is possible per section depending on whether the original was tightly written or repetitive. For explicit length control, AI Condense / AI Expand are dedicated tools.
Does it preserve formatting (lists, headings, emphasis)?
Headings and lists are preserved structurally. Bold/italic emphasis is preserved on the same words where possible. Tables and figures are referenced but not paraphrased — the rewrite is content-only.
What’s the credit cost?
3 credits per doc. Cost is fixed regardless of doc size.
What if the paraphrase changes meaning?
It can happen, especially in technical sections with domain-specific vocabulary. Read the output before submitting — the page citations make spot-checking easy. For high-stakes content (legal, medical, regulatory) treat the output as a draft for human review.

Need length change too?

AI Condense reduces length while preserving meaning; AI Expand goes the other way for material that needs more depth. Use these when paraphrase alone isn’t enough.
