How to fill out a non-fillable PDF form
Old forms scanned without fillable fields. Type in them anyway.
Most online forms are fillable PDFs with proper form fields. Some — older government forms, scanned templates — don't have fillable fields. The workaround is to add text on top of the blank lines manually.
Use Add Text Box
Edit PDF rewrites existing text. For non-fillable forms, there's no existing text — you need to add new text on top. Add Text Box places new text wherever you click. Pick the font and size to match surrounding labels.
Sign the form
After typing the answers, use Sign PDF to add your signature. Type, draw, or upload your signature image. Match the size to the printed name beneath the signature line.
Flatten before sending
Form text added via Add Text Box is editable by the recipient unless you flatten the file. Flatten converts the added text into part of the page itself, locking it in place.
